From Gardiner Area High School I enlisted in the US Marine Corps, when my tour was over I attended the University of Maine at Machias, afterwards I worked a number of jobs until my strong sense of independence and entrepreneurial spirit lead me to create, successfully grow, and later sell a fitness equipment sales and servicing company.

In 2015 I worked to advance The Zadroga Act, the re-authorization of the World Trade Center Health and Compensation Fund. A bill which provides monitoring and treatment for 9-11 related health conditions.

In 2019 I was hired by the US Department of Commerce/US Census Bureau to run all Field Operations in Maine for the 2020 Census, my third census. In an operations meeting in Washington DC I learned that for decades the State of Maine had been the last state in the nation to complete the census. Upon returning to the State Headquarters in Gardiner my team and I went to work to identify the problems and create a plan to overcome them. We received 11,000+ employment applications and hired 4000+, trained 108 supervisors, and assembled dedicated teams to attack the problem areas. In the end, Maine completed all assignments prior to the close of operations and became #1 in the nation. We made history.
